Using our 4Youth community, we conducted an exploration into understanding the biggest challenges facing young people in education, and the barriers to accessing mental health support.

We found that university students are most likely to say that they have faced challenges regarding their mental health, with balancing life and work and financial concerns coming out top. The majority of students are aware of the mental health services available to them, but only 35% of those aware have used them, with the biggest barriers including long wait times and uncertainty around type of support needed.
